Get feedback

Feedback is a critical part of the course and of file in general. Whenever you produce a peice of work you must get feedback on what is good about it and what can be imporved. Why? In the real world publications go through many reviews, feedback sessions, focus groups and goodness knows what else. This is to ensure that the work matches the origonal brief as best it can. If you are going to print out a few thousand leaflets you really want to be sure that it will be successful.

Getting feedback on your work is a bit tricker than you may think. First of all you need to find someone who will give you honest feedback. If you find someone who just says your work is wounderful then you will of leanred nothing on how to improve. If you choose someone who is a bit lazy then again you will learn nothing from the feedback. For feedback to be meaningful and useful it needs to be critical.

There is no such thing as perfect work. There is ALWAYS something which can be improved. Even if it is small.

When you get someone to write feedback for you ensure that they will be critical. They should focus on the following -

If you are unhappy with the feedback you should find someone else to give you feedback!

The quality of the feedback you get will directly reflect on the quality of your final publications. So do not accept rubbish feedback!
