Design ideas

In order to produce a good design it is important to look for examples of design. It is important to find examples of what looks good and what does not. You then need to decide on what parts of these designs you may wish to employ into your own work.

When you find a design which you want to borrow ideas from you must put it into your sources table. You should also include designs which are not so good.

When getting ideas you should consider -

• How well does the design fit in with the project brief
• The colours used and how well they work together
• The images and how they are used
• Fonts
• Background textures
• Overall style (for example grunge, retro, classical etc)
• How consistant is the design with other things from the same company

The only way to get top marks is to research your design and try and use the research to create your design.

 

When you document your research you can either

1. Put it in your sources table [view example]
